The Woodstock ‘Roadhouse’ Hotel in north Cheam, southwest London, the Prince of Wales in Kingsbury, north London and the Byron Hotel in Greenford, northwest London were all operated by the same promoter: The Arthur Forest Organisation (AFO). Many of the same groups performed at all three venues.
Ken Samuels, who played with Flight One, very kindly provided these posters, both from 1965. We’d love to hear from anyone who played at this venue and can provide any more memorabilia and further information about their band. Email: Warchive@aol.com

on youtube go to british pathe and punch in earl baron 5 where to your amazment are around 4 film clips of the band…unfortunately they are silent but great quality none the less…
Wayne recollects around ’67 – ’68 Status Quo playing at the Woodstock…. this was before Pictures of Matchstick Men first hit the charts. He says that he recalls Arthur saying that they had tried to get out of doing the booking there but Arthur stood his ground. The must have paper at that time was The Melody Maker. Unfortunately (sadly) we do not have posters or fliers from that era….. Wayne would have been 10 in 1966 (how time flies). I met Wayne who was DJ’ing for Arthur at The Master Brewer Motel in Hillingdon in the mid ’70’s. My first taste of Discos was through Interspin !!!
