The Pleasure Seekers gave Suzi Quatro her start, for all you bubble-glam fans.An ode to teenage drinking!
Well I love you baby
I’m telling you right here
But please don’t make me decide baby
Between you and a bottle of beer.
Baby come on over,
come on over to my side
well I may not live past twenty-one
but WOO!
what a way to die!
Your lovin’ fluctuates baby
and everybody knows
but the temperature always stays the same
on an ice cold bottle of Stroh’s
When I start my drinking
my baby throws a fit
So I just blitz him outta my mind
with seventeen bottles of Schlitz
You’ve got the kind of body
that makes me come alive
But I’d rather have my hands around
A bottle of Colt 45
Baby come on over,
come on over to my side
well I may not live past twenty-one
but WOO!
what a way to die
We all know where Suzi baby is today, but what about her susters and other members of the band? Thanx for this.
What info do you have on this band? Where are they from, Detroit? When did they first form? What were the members’ names (other than Suzi Quatro) and are they still involved in music? They sure were hot babes, I wonder if they still look like that now? The Vox organist looks a lot like Nancy Sinatra. What year was this photo taken? How many other all-female bands were there during this era?
They are from Grosse Pointe, just north of Detroit. The organist is Suzi’s sister Arlene who is last heard in los Angeles. Arlene’s daughter is Sherlyn Fenn. Her claim to fame is The mini series Twin Peaks,Gand a handful of
movies. The drummer in that same picture is Darline Arnone. She had the best voice in the band Check out myspace.com/pleasure seekers. Play the song “Good kind of hurt” The tall girl with the long dark hair, is Patty Quatro. There were no female bands and not many others that could come close to the Pleasure Seekers in the
60s
The Pleasure Seekers started with 3 sisters, Patti,Suzi and Arlene Quatro. There were several member changes. Nancy joined the band and Arlene left after getting remarried. They decided to change the name of the band to Cradle and went in a heavier direction musically. Arlene’s daughter is Sherilyn Fenn of Twin Peaks and many movies. She is still an actress with two children in L.A. Arlene lives in Colorado and is now 67. She has not ever returned to music. Patti lives in Austin, Texas. After Cradle, Patti went on to success with 70’s female band Fanny which relocated her to L.A. After 3 years, Patti got married and had two children. She and Nancy are now preparing an release of Cradle music. Patti is now 60. Suzi was on Happy Days and had major success overseas and continues to tour, have a radio show, and has just released her book. She has two children and is 58. She lives in England. Nancy left music after Cradle disbanded , got married, had three kids and is now back in music managing, promoting, and putting on rock shows. She is currently working on the Cradle project with Patti. She is 55 and lives in Arlington, Texas.
LOVE THEM!
so powerful!
Darlene, the 1965-1999 drummer, lived for many years in Woodbridge, VA. She and her husband now live in West Virginia. She used to haul out her drum set and play for our annual church talent show.
Just got this update from Darline: The Pleasure Seekers have been invited to play the Detroit Rock Awards next April. We are trying to work things out with Suzi’s schedule to see if she can come back to the US so we can do it. It would be such a blast to get together again, I hope we can work it out.
would love to hear from her

My wife, the former Sherry Hammerlee, was in the band for a brief period of time, but never mentioned. She still has the guitar she played.I believe Pris Wenzel was also in the band.
Will definately have to pick up this music. I spent many hours at the Hideout in the early days and had many conversations with the Pleasure Seekers and other groups. My cousin played with the Amboy Dukes for a period and I hung out with him and the various great bands that played there. That was a great time for Detroit music and I feel very fortunate to have been there. Great site with interesting information…Thanks! Let me know if the Pleasure Seekers ever do another show in Detroit…I would absoultely be there.
