Animals’ gigs 1963-1966

Welcome to another posting of a series of gig listings for 1960s bands. None of these lists is exhaustive and my idea is to add to them in the comments section below over time. They are here for future researchers to draw on.  I have also added a few interesting bits of information and will add images in time.

I’d like to encourage band members to get in touch to share memories, or for anyone to send corrections/clarifications to my email: Warchive@aol.com

Equally important, if you attended any of the gigs below or played in the support band, please do leave your memories below in the comments section for future historians to use. If you know of any missing gigs, please add them too, if possible, with the sources.

8 Providence, RI Rhode Island Auditorium

There are clarifications for some venue names as well as two dates , Richmond VA and Montreal QUE that didn’t happen. In addition, The Animals played independent dates on 1, 2 and 3 August. More details on that to follow.

    1. Hi
I hopped a train into Boston for Herman’s Hermits, and The Animals tour at the Boston Arena. My friends were not into going to concerts, the heck with them, I saw dozens of shows from the age of 14 yrs old.
I was huge on the Stones, Dave Clark 5,The Kinks and also a lot of incredible soul acts!

My wish was to be the “next Mick Jagger”, and at least became a nightclub/ function disc-jockey for 40+ plus years (no canned krap, no stealing music off the internet),I played all o f the great 60’s stuff!!

  15. Does anybody remember The Animals playing at The George, Farnham Road, Slough about 1964, I believe they visited Slough Record Centre opposite the same day?

  16. What date in the mid sixties did the Animals perform at the QE theater in Vancouver with the Shangri-las and The Angels please?
